Overview:
After assisting the client with early cost planning and construction advice Albion Projects was awarded the contract to construct the new stand alone Airport Ascot Motel on Kingsford Smith Drive, Hamilton.
The project comprised 27 room motel complete with reception, full kitchen and on- site commercial laundry facilities. The project involved the installation of two underground rainwater harvesting ranks totaling 45,000 litres. The structure comprised high level pad footings, post tensioned suspended slabs, reinforced masonry wall systems and trussed timber framed roof.
The site posed significant challenges with regard to site access with limited access available from busy Kingsford Smith Drive. This challenge was overcome by servicing the entire project from a rear access point through an adjoining property.
All motel rooms were finished to a high standard in line with a previous motel project Albion Projects had completed for this client.
